MEET THE DOCTOR

Dr. Ziuchkovski (Dr. Z) grew up in Colorado Springs where he graduated from Palmer High School.  As a young teenager, Dr. Z enjoyed his experience with braces so much that he decided to pursue a career in orthodontics.  He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Notre Dame, and returned to the University of Colorado for his dental degree, graduating first in his class.  While completing his training, Dr. Z served as the student body president at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, as well as the University of Colorado School of Dentistry.  Following dental school, Dr. Z completed his orthodontic residency and Masters of Science at The Ohio State University. His research interests are in the area of orthodontic appliance esthetics, and his work has been published in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.

Dr. Z is board certified with the American Board of Orthodontics, and an active member in the American Association of Orthodontics, American Dental Association, and Colorado Dental Association.  He also serves on the board of the Colorado Springs Dental Society and has served as the president of the Colorado Summer Orthodontic Meeting. 

Dr. Z and his wife, Dr. Kirsten Ziuchkovski (the other Dr. Z), are thrilled to live and practice in Colorado Springs.  She practices general dentistry in the area, and many laughably refer to them as “the teeth family.”  They both enjoy hiking, running, skiing, snowboarding, tennis, college football, watching movies, and especially love spending time with family. They are blessed with a growing family. Life is always exciting with their daughter Lily, sons Kyan & Joseph, and a furry golden doodle named Yarra.

History of the Practice:

Dr. Youngquist moved to Colorado Springs and started the practice in 1974. He was a well-respected and beloved orthodontist in the Colorado Springs region for over 35 years. As a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, Dr. Youngquist was an accomplished, but humble professional. Outside of the professional arena, Dr. Youngquist’s interests include windsurfing, surfing, skiing, snow-boarding, fly fishing, fitness, travel, and music. He is also a drummer and enjoys jamming with his buddies. Rock & roll, and blues are his favorite styles of music, and he was well known for playing “rock & roll trivia” in the office.

Dr. Ziuchkovski joined the practice in 2006, and both doctors enjoyed working side-by-side until Dr. Youngquist retired in 2010. Dr. Youngquist and Dr. Z shared a common practice vision - offering excellent service in a fun & relaxed atmosphere, while providing state of the art, scientific based, orthodontic care.
